A Yummy Christmas Cake Recipe
This Chritsmas Cake Recipe is something that you must certainly try out. By using this recipe, you can bake a marvelous rich Christmas cake. After baking and tasting this recipe once, you will want to bake this easy to cook Christmas cake again and again. After you bake this cake, you can keep it fresh by pouring syrup over it. You can prepare this syrup by mixing 100 ml water, 50 gm sugar and a large spoon of rum.
Ingredients
- 240gm flour
- 200gm sugar
- 4 eggs
- 120gm butter
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 360gm raisins
- 100ml rum
- Few drops of vanilla essence
- 150gm lemon peel
- 50gm walnuts
- 30gm crystallized cherries
Cooking Process
The first step is to prepare a cake tin by oiling the tin and sprinkling a little flour in it. Line the bottom of the tin with paraffin paper. Now, slice the cherries, walnuts and lemon peel into small pieces and put them in rum. Also, add raisins to this mixture. Combine sugar, butter and vanilla essence by beating them together.
At this point, beat the eggs into the mixture. This has to be done slowly so that the mixture does not curdle. Once the eggs are well-mixed, flour and baking powder have to be stirred in. Next, add the ingredients soaked in rum and also add some of the rum. The prepared mixture has to be poured into the cake tin.
Now, heat an oven at 160 C and put the cake into the oven. The cake should be allowed to bake for 15 to 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, remove the cake from the oven and let cool for some time. Once the cake has cooled down, pour the sugar and the remaining rum syrup onto the cake. Your cake is now ready for use.
